has unveiled its successful report based on the cleaning capability (Soft,Color,Cirlce, etc)

that was been test from Optometry Dept, EULJI UNIVERSITY in 2010 October.

  

Followed by the Soft lens cleaning report, MioTTIcA has again requested

for the RGP/Hard contact lens cleaning test

to the EULJI UNIVERSITY in 2012 December.

They have verified the capability of cleaning through utilizing electron microscope.

TEST OUTLINE

• Purpose of Test : Verification of  capability to clean lipids on contact lens surfaces by     operation of vibrating  auto cleaner, IPOOL
• Title of Test: [iPOOL Cleaning Test Report]
• Test Place : Optometry Dept, EULJI UNIVERSITY
• Test Period : DEC 10, 2012~DEC 17, 2010 ( 7days) 

Test Specimen

• Specimen
• Lipids: Artificial lipids
• Contact lens Boston XO material RGP (Hard) Contact lens
•  (Reason for use of Boston XO contact lens (stronger lipids adsorption then normal ones, also, This material is most used material of RGP (Lens) in the world)
• Solution of RGP(hard) lens: Boston SIMPLUS
• Experimental equipment : Electron microscope-[S-4700] of Hitachi, Japan

  

Test Method

• Conditions: use of artificial lipids, put on 3 pairs of XO lenses on the shaking condition for 24 hours.
• Put solution and specimen in IPOOL and operate 3 and 5 minutes each to clean.
• Take microphotograph using electron microscope in order for cleaning results of the specimen.

 

 

Test Results

• The longer operation of IPOOL, less lipids found in the contact lens surface.
• As seen on the microscope film, in case of 5 minutes of operation, almost of lipids were cleaned except for Sodium chloride crystals.
• Therefore, normal contact lens user are recommended to operate  3~5 minutes.
• However, previously used RGP(Hard) contact lens has a high possibility of lipids and impurities being settled and solidify.
  Hence, it is predicted that iPOOL should be utilized initially in order to maintain the highest washing capacity.

1.“Lens case needs to be boiled in order to be sterilized.”

Every lens case should not be sterilized in boiling water as the material is not

made with non-toxic PP.

The material of normal lens cases transforms at 80 degrees.

 

 

2.“I do not exchange my lens case until I lose them.”

 If you constantly use same lens case, proteins from contact lens will be remained on a

surface of the lens case even thou you clean them.

Every lens case is recommended to be exchanged in every 3 months.

 

 

 3. "Experienced receiving eye treament from ophthalmology."

 

Proteins and substances from lens or case turns to hard jelly form which can easily injure your eyes.

Also this proteins can create bacteria which will bring a high possibility of ophthalmitis.

 

 

4. "Feeling of irritation and dryness when wearing lenses."

If you do not clean lenses everyday, the proteins gets heaped and it depreciates hydrophilic which

- Soft contact lens :

This indicates that the material is very soft

Types are Circle lens, Color lens, Beauty lens, Vision correcting lens, One day lens, 2 weeks lens, 15 days lens, and month lens.

- MPS for Soft lens :

Bausch Lomb Re-nu, Alcon Opti-free , Bescon Cliwell

 

- RGP(Hard) contact lens :

This indicates that the material is very hard

Types are RGP lens, Hard lens, Dream lens, and OK lens

- MPS for RGP (Hard) lens :

Boston Simplicity and AMO total-care

 

 

 

 

 

Just 4 steps to clean all kinds of contact lenses.

Let's START !!!!

 

 

First !

After washing your hands,

Separate the case from the board,

put the MPS into the case and soak the contact lens.

 

Second !

After closing the cap tightly, attach them onto the board

and operate it for 3~5 minutes.

Third !

Rewash the lens and case that were detached

from the cleaner with the new MPS.

 

Fourth !

Soak the lens into the case that has been filled with the

new MPS for 4~6 hours in order to sterilize.

 

 

This is it ~

Very simple and easy right ?

Well.. it seems to be long...

But as you have read the instruction ! The process is not that special !
